Fair Vote Canada is governed by a democratically elected National Council of 15 persons. Five people are elected each year to a three-year term using the Single Transferable Vote (STV), a proportional voting system.

This year, because of vacancies on Council, there were four extra positions to fill. Here are the results of the 2013 National Council election:

Margaret Hoff withdrew her candidacy after the voting had started.

The following candidates are elected to a three-year term:

  • Stuart Parker
  • Wilf Day
  • Katherine Skene
  • John Deverell
  • Benjamin Trister

The following candidates are elected to a two-year term:

  • Aamir Hussain

Detailed results are available on request.

Thank you to all the candidates for putting your name forward! For those of you who were not successful this time, we hope you will continue to be active in Fair Vote Canada. We can’t all be on National Council, but there is lots of work for all of us!
