Leger was commissioned by Fair Vote Canada to conduct a poll of Canadians in order to evaluate their opinion on improving democracy, proportional representation, and support for a National Citizens’ Assembly on Electoral Reform as part of the government’s plan. 1,529 English and French-speaking Canadians, 18 years of age or older were surveyed between September 4 and September 6, 2020.

Using data from Statistics Canada, results were weighted according to gender, age, region, mother tongue, education and presence of minor children in the household in order to ensure a representative sample of the entire population. Highlights of the poll

Support includes 78% of Liberal voters, 75% of Conservative voters, 88% of NDP voters, 83% of Bloc voters and 84% of Green voters.
