FVC Membership Policy

Membership in Fair Vote Canada is open to persons 14 years of age or older. While there is only one class of membership, there are two different membership rates:

  • Anyone who contributes $25 or more or signs up as a monthly donor of $5 or more; and
  • Those who self-identify at the time of donation as being 26 years of age or less, as unemployed or under-employed, or as members of equity-seeking groups who make a one-time donation of $5 or more.

Making a contribution under either category, and providing name and contact information, is deemed an application for membership in Fair Vote Canada.

People who qualify under either category become members effective two months after the date of such donation, unless the Executive Director refuses their application during this period

If an additional qualifying donation is made within 90 days of the anniversary of the qualifying donation, the donor continues as a voting member. If no additional donation is made, membership ceases 90 days after the anniversary of the last qualifying donation.

Any member may resign their membership in writing.

Any member may be expelled by a vote of three-quarters of the Directors, provided that the member is granted an opportunity to be heard at such meeting.
