    After 7 failed referendums in Canada, I think the complexity and fear of the “change factor” from these new systems is what did them in. My blog post outlines “Optional Second Vote”.
    It’s a TINY change to FPTP– it’d even accommodate people’s existing voting practices under FPTP if they so wish. BUT it could still help end false majorities that I’m sick of seeing.

    So, in a future PR referendum, OSV should be the only ‘status quo’ option– that’d guarantee REAL change (at long last) on electoral reform, no matter the referendum’s outcome:
