FVC Simcoe County Chapter fundraiser and AGM
Please mark on your calendars these two important dates for our Simcoe County chapter of Fair Vote Canada:
1) Saturday March 31st -- a Fundraising Dinner will be hosted by Ken & Paulina Robertson. Up to 10 people can be accommodated; the Robertsons will be offering a 3-course meal including wine. A minimum donation of $20 per person is requested. Everyone is welcome to join – including people newer to electoral reform movement – but we require advance notice. If you would like to join in, please email Ken at kp_robertson@sympatico.ca
2) Monday April 30th – our chapter AGM. As well as the usual business, we’ll have a special guest visit from the national Executive Director of Fair Vote Canada, Wayne Smith. It’s a great time to bring questions about electoral reform and Fair Vote Canada’s role in advocating for change. The AGM will be held at the Angus Ross Room in the Barrie Public Library, 7-9 pm, on Mon. April 30th.
Also at this meeting, we’ll be electing a new executive for 2012-2013. Peter Kizoff and Ken Robertson are both willing to put their names forward for re-election. However, we still need people to step forward as candidates – I (Eleanor) will not be available to continue in the upcoming year; we would like to see a new executive member with organizational skills and computer ability -- preferably with knowledge of social media networks.
--Before these two events, there is still need for your energy & ideas, particularly for community outreach activites. David Stinson has been revising the PowerPoint that Louise Gravelle, myself & others created last fall. If you are willing to present to community groups, and/or have connections at local groups and would help to arrange for a presentation, please be in touch!
