Democracy Week Events Ottawa

In honour of United Nations Democracy Week, the NCR chapter of Fair Vote Canada is having a pub night Friday (September 16). We are meeting at the Royal Oak on Bank St at Gloucester St (188 Bank St) at 7 pm. The reservation is under the name Fair Vote Canada.

It’s an informal gathering, but we’d like to propose some topics for discussion.
· What kind of process should we advocate to change our electoral system in Canada?
· What kind of voting system would you like to see if it was up to you?
· What other changes do we think would make Canada a more democratic country?
· This is the first year Fair Vote has tried to hold chapter events across Canada during Democracy Week. What should the NCR chapter aim to do next year?
· What 3 goals do you think our chapter should pursue this year?
Other topics, of course, are welcome!

We hope you can make it out to join us in acknowledging our fortune in living in a somewhat free and somewhat democratic society, and discussing how we can make it more so.
