Fair Vote Ontario: Support our campaign!

Post-Referendum Strategy

In the October 2007 electoral reform referendum, 1.5 million Ontarians voted in favour of the mixed-member proportional (MMP) system proposed by the Ontario Citizens’ Assembly on Electoral Reform. While one poll indicated an overwhelming majority of young voters rallied to our cause, we fell short of winning majority support. But the fight for fair voting in Ontario continues.

The Fair Vote Ontario council is now re-organizing to launch the next phase of our “unfinished business” campaign – to put provincial electoral reform back on the agenda. In addition, Ontario reformers will continue to support federal and other provincial campaigns for fair voting.
